Douglas Orellana, 28, was walking in the 9000 block of Foxbury Way at 7 a.m. Monday when two men in a white vehicle fired one shot at him, said sheriff’s Lt. Gil Carillo. Orellana was hit in the upper torso, and the car sped away east on Foxbury Way. Orellana died later at St. Francis Medical Center. Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives were asking anyone with information about this case to call (323) 890-5500. `Chop shop’ suspect identified – Detectives Thursday named a suspect arrested in connection with the discovery this week of an auto-theft “chop shop.” Authorities named Jorge Tamayo of East Los Angeles as the alleged operator of the chop shop, where investigators Wednesday discovered several stolen cars waiting to be dismantled so parts could be sold, said Montebello police Sgt. Brian Dragoo. Tamayo, who lived in a trailer next to the shop, was arrested Wednesday while driving an allegedly stolen BMW. He gave a false name when arrested, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, Dragoo said.
