Any adult over the age of 18 would be given all the training and help they need to become a leader. “The beauty about scouting” Kevin remarked, was that “because of the differing age ranges, a volunteer can join an age range section that they feel they would enjoy working with. Even if you feel you would not have the energy to help run a section, there may be skills you possess that could help, for example people who have committee or administration skills are also valuable to the successful running of a scout group. With a view to setting up a Scout Group it is intended to hold an open evening in the Mevagh Family Resource Centre on the 1st May at 7.30 pm for adults who may be interested in finding out more about setting up a new group in the area. For further information please contact: Margaret Mc Keague, 9155055 or Kevin Ferguson, Provincial Support Officer, Scouting Ireland.
