Guatemalan security forces have arrested two alleged members of the Mexican Los Zetas cartel, one of whom is alleged to have participated in the massacre and beheading of 27 rural workers in northern Guatemala, President Otto Pérez announced on June 11. “These arrests are significant because they’re hitmen, they’re members of the Los Zetas operational group,” the president told the press. Both arrests, the president announced, took place on June 10, at a soccer field in Salamá, Baja Verapaz, around 170 km north of the Guatemalan capital. According to the head of state, the investigations point to the participation of Abel de Jesús Bolvito in the massacre of the rural workers, perpetrated on May 14, 2011. The other individual arrested was identified as Edwin Otoniel Sis, an alleged member of Los Zetas. “Abel de Jesús is accused of having participated in the massacre committed on the Los Cocos rural property,” he specified. Los Zetas are also accused of the murder of auxiliary prosecutor Allan Stowlinsky Vidaurre, who was kidnapped days after the massacre and whose dismembered corpse was found in Alta Verapaz, a region neighboring on Petén. Los Zetas’ networks extend from the southern United States to several countries in Central America, and although they originally joined the Gulf cartel, they are now in conflict with them. On the same day, Guatemalan drug trafficker Walter Alirio Montejo Mérida, alias “el Zope” [“The Buzzard”], an alleged member of the Sinaloa cartel, Los Zetas’ opponent in the fight to the death to dominate territory in Guatemala, was also arrested by the police for purposes of extradition to the United States. The OrchardTOWNSVILLE’S newest large lot master planned community is growing quickly with eight homes either about to begin or already under construction and almost as many on hold. Elements North Queensland Sales Manager Paul Fotinos said The Orchard’s location and fully serviced large homesites were a major factor in the success of sales. “This is the only development that offers easy access to just about every major employment hub as well as large homesites that are all fully-serviced including NBN ready, underground power, town water and sewage connection, kerb and channelling,” Mr Fotinos said. “We always knew there was a pent-up demand for this kind of product in the local market but to have this many lots all but sold in the past few months has exceeded our expectations.”More from news01:21Buyer demand explodes in Townsville’s 2019 flood-affected suburbs12 Sep 202001:21‘Giant surge’ in new home sales lifts Townsville property market10 Sep 2020“There are definite signs that confidence is returning to the residential market and all indications are that the demand will grow faster for larger, full-serviced homesites that provide generous building envelope compared to the traditional lot.” The Orchard is a 350 home development set in natural bush land off Darling Road in Jensen and boasts new, fully serviced homesites from 1000 to 4000sq m.Mr Fotinos said The Orchard’s proximity to the Ring Road meant there were just one or two sets of traffic lights to work for residents employed at major employers The Hospital, JCU and Lavarack. “There are around 20,000 locals employed at these employment nodes and we have received a lot of interest from this market all seeking more space,” Mr Fotinos said. “There are some great schools just minutes away and also plenty of shops and parks nearby. Buyers are really drawn to this balance of convenience, lifestyle and space.” For more info, call Mr Fotinos on 4731 1425.
Greg Olsen concussion statusOlsen missed Week 14 after getting concussed in Week 13. Ian Thomas saw 10 targets and scored a touchdown in Olsen’s absence. A return for Olsen will depend on clearing the NFL’s concussion protocol.WEEK 15 DFS LINEUPS:FD Cash | FD GPP | DK Cash | Y! Cash | Y! GPPThe Panthers take on the Seahawks in Week 15, who just allowed a 100-yard game to Tyler Higbee, so whichever of Olsen or Thomas gets the start should be considered a back-end fantasy starter. If Evan Engram can make it back for Week 15, the tight end rankings will be nearly back to full strength (although Mark Andrews’ injury means that might not be totally true). We’re also looking for the latest updates on Gerald Everett and Greg Olsen, who each missed Week 14, as well. If they remain out, Tyler Higbee and Ian Thomas would once again serve as priority waiver pickups and sleepers. For updates on injured QBs Patrick Mahomes, Jameis Winston, and Tom Brady, click here; for news on banged-up WRs Calvin Ridley, Mike Evans, DJ Chark, and DeVante Parker, go here; for the latest on injured RBs Derrius Guice, Derrick Henry, and more, go here; for the latest on ailing TEs Noah Fant, Ryan Griffin, Mark Andrews, and Jared Cook, click here; for updates on WRs Adam Thielen, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Will Fuller, and T.Y. WEEK 15 NON-PPR RANKINGS: Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | KickerEvan Engram injury updateAfter there was some speculation that Engram (foot) would return for Week 14, he was ruled out Saturday ahead of the Giants’ Monday night game. He’s missed four-straight contests due to a foot injury, allowing Kaden Smith to continue to start. New York takes on the Dolphins on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Week 15.Engram gets plugged right back into fantasy lineups if he’s active, while Smith remains a deep-league option if he gets the start against the Dolphins.WEEK 15: Top Waiver PickupsGerald Everett injury newsEverett (knee) has missed two straight games while Tyler Higbee has topped 100 yards in both. Sean McVay told reporters Monday that Everett is progressing but will likely be held out of practice early in the week.Considering Higbee had already leapfrogged Everett before the injury, anyone who’s relying on Higbee at this point shouldn’t be worried. Higbee proved his 100-yard game against the Cardinals wasn’t a fluke by doing it again, so he’s a borderline fantasy starter for Week 15 against the Cowboys.
